Out of the ICU today
Julie's second chest tube is out. It came out a lot easier because Scott the PA did a great job at helping her relax and breathe deep. He did a lamaze number on her. If you breathe shallow and arent relaxed, pulling out those tubes is like having a cable yanked out of a wall. Since she was relaxed it just slipped right out. We thought we were going to have to do another bronchoscopy today but she has a scheduled one for tomorrow so they are going to wait. Again they did a second xray and it didn't look as bad as the first. They told us we are on the way upstairs to the floor. This is great news. This hospital stay is so different because they are doing everything to push her to improve enough to go home. I am so used to just having her stay 2 weeks regardless.
